'POlitical stability important' says Dijsselbloem17 February, 13:30
"Political stability is important," said Jeroen Dijsselbloem, who currently leads the group of European Union financial ministers.
Dijsselbloem said Italy needed to enact structural reforms to improve its economic competitiveness.
The Dutch finance minister gathered his colleagues, as is usual practice, ahead of a meeting of EU finance ministers later Monday.
European Central Bank Mario Draghi and European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro, Olli Rehn, also attend Eurogroup meetings.
Renzi, who has promised sweeping economic reforms, is expected to take up to a week to form a government.
