Olympics: Italy's Innerhofer 'mad with joy' after bronze win (Updates previous) (ANSA) - Sochi, February 14 - Italy's Christof Innerhofer said he was "mad with joy" Friday when he tried to turn a somersault on the podium after he won a bronze medal in the super combined event at the Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia - his second medal win in these games.

Innerhofer delighted the crowd with his antics and later admitted at a press conference, "I was so happy, I looked like a fool on the podium".

The 29-year-old from Bruneck in Italy's South Tyrol province finished third behind Switzerland's Sanro Viletta, who took the gold; and Croatian Ivica Kostelic, who won silver.

Earlier in the Sochi games, Innerhofer won silver in the men's downhill skiing event.

Friday's win marks Italy's fourth medal in the winter games thus far, after Arianna Fontana won the silver medal in the final of the women's 500m short track skating event at the Sochi Winter Olympics on Thursday, and Armin Zoeggeler took bronze in the luge.
