Markets seem happy about Renzi premiership bid (ANSA) - Rome, February 14 - Italian markets appeared happy at Democratic Party (PD) leader Matteo Renzi's bid to replace his party colleague Enrico Letta as premier.

The spread between Italian and German 10-year bonds fell to a recent low of 203.4 points Friday morning, from 204 the previous day, after rates on three-year bonds dropped to a euro-era low Thursday.

Milan stocks curbed losses Thursday to a bare 0.17% after Renzi called for a new government before gaining 0.5% Friday morning ahead of Letta's resignation.
