Christians must be lambs says pope

But not 'idiots', Francis says

14 February, 12:05
Christians must be lambs says pope (ANSA) - Vatican City, February 14 - Christians must remain lambs and beat the temptation to become wolves, Pope Francis said Friday.

They should not be "idiots", however, but "astute". (The Christian) is a lamb, and must keep that identity," the pope told a Mass in St Martha's House, the Vatican hostel he lives in rather than the luxury papal apartments.

The Lord, Francis said, "sends us like lambs among wolves".

"A lamb. Not an idiot, but a lamb. With Christian astuteness," said the Argentiian pontiff, elected a month after Benedict XVI's shock resignation a year ago.
