Soccer: Napoli thrash Roma, set up Cup final with Fiorentina

(ANSA) - Rome, February 13 - Napoli will face Fiorentina in the final of the Italian Cup in May after thrashing AS Roma 3-0 at home on Wednesday to overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg of the semi and prevail 5-3 on aggregate. Goals by Jose Callejon, Gonzalo Higuain and Jorginho kept Napoli on course to win the Cup for the fifth time, with the most recent of their four victories in the competition achieved in 2012.

Napoli were given a boost by the arrival at their San Paolo Stadium of former great Diego Maradona, who cheered their goals heartily.

Roma can now concentrate on the Serie A title race.

They trail leaders Juventus by nine points, but have a game in hand.

Fiorentina were the first side to reach the final after they beat Udinese 2-0 at home on Tuesday to win their semi-final 3-2 on aggregate.
