'Won't quit for rumours, palace manoeuvres' says Letta

Wants 'clarity' from Renzi

'Won't quit for rumours, palace manoeuvres' says Letta (ANSA) - Rome, February 12 - Premier Enrico Letta said Wednesday he would not quit because of "rumours or palace manoeuvres" amid speculation his Democratic Party (PD) leader Matteo Renzi may take his job. Letta demanded "clarity" of the PD leader, who some have accused of plotting to replace him at the helm of Italy's left-right government.

Renzi is set to pass judgement Thursday on the key reform pact Letta unveiled Wednesday to re-energise his alliance's reform drives.
