Fallen chunk of stone insignia hits passer-by in Florence (ANSA) - Florence, February 10 - A chunk of a stone coat-of-arms fell off a historic palazzo in Florence Monday and hit a passer-by in the street below.

The man, who was walking along via Gondi, not far from Palazzo Vecchio, was taken to hospital for tests.

He was reported to have been slightly injured.

Fire teams are securing the area after the incident, which is believed to have been caused by weeks of torrential rain.
