Teen in coma after being beaten by partner in Rome (ANSA) - Rome, February 4 - A 19-year-old woman was in a coma in a Rome hospital on Tuesday after being beaten up by her partner during a row.

The man, a 35-year-old bricklayer from Rome, hit the young woman repeatedly on the head and other parts of her body at their home in Vitinia on the southern outskirts of the capital before calling the emergency services. The woman subsequently underwent surgery at the G.B. Grassi hospital in Ostia.
