Letta chides India over latest marines trial delay (see related) (ANSA) - Doha, February 3 - Premier Enrico Letta on Monday chided India for continuing to postpone a ruling on two Italian marines who possibly face the death penalty for an alleged murder two years ago. "This can't go on any longer. We've been waiting for two years. There's no more time for further delays. India needs to put its cards on the table this week," said Letta. "For us this is a very serious affair". On Monday a court in India delayed a long-awaited ruling for another week. The ruling regards whether to apply a harsh anti-terrorism law that carries the death penalty against the pair for allegedly killing two Indian fishermen during an anti-piracy mission in international waters.
