Leaders need to love God, people in crisis, says pope
Francis praises example of King David03 February, 13:16
Francis invoked the Biblical story of King David, who he called "a great sinner and a great saint" during the homily of a Mass at Saint Martha's House, the Vatican guesthouse where the pope lives, Vatican Radio reported.
Francis said King David was admirable for "three attitudes" in crisis. He remained "a man who loves God, loves his people and does not use them to negotiate, a man who knows he is a sinner and does penance". The pontiff also praised David for being "a man who is sure of his God and relies on Him".
