Sollecito stopped after 'ride in Austria' (ANSA) - Udine, January 31 - Raffaele Sollecito was in Italian police custody Friday where he confessed to "driving in Austria, then coming back to Italy" after a court in Florence found him guilty along with American ex-girlfriend Amanda Knox in the 2007 murder of British exchange student Meredith Kercher.

"I stopped there to rest," he told police. He was banned Friday from leaving the country. Police stopped him at dawn at the Carnia hotel in Venzone, 40 kilometers from the Austrian border. He reportedly was with his girlfriend, driving in a car registered to her father's company.
