Mafia informant arrested for sex abuse after TV interview (ANSA) - Rome, January 31 - A Mafia informant under investigation for perjury was arrested after an appearance on an Italian talk show late Thursday for allegedly sexually abusing a woman at a care center. Vincenzo Scarantino was indicted in February last year for testimony that led to the wrongful conviction of seven innocent suspects in the 1992 murder of anti-Mob prosecutor Paolo Borsellino and his body guards.

After an interview on the Italian TV program Piazza Pulita, Scarantino was arrested for allegedly taking a job under a false identity at a center for people with domestic problems outside Turin, where he allegedly abused the woman who pressed charges in November.
