'Put yourself in my shoes' Sollecito tells ANSA (see related) (ANSA) - Perugia, January 31 - Raffaele Sollecito asked people for empathy in an interview with ANSA Friday after his conviction with Amanda Knox for the 2007 murder of British exchange student Meredith Kercher.

"I'd like others to put themselves in my shoes," said the 29-year-old who denies wrongdoing. "I won't talk about the verdict".

Knox turned in his passport to police Friday as he awaits an appeal to the supreme court.
