World's fair hosted by Milan for all of Europe, says premier

Letta says Expo 2015 will raise Italy's profile (ANSA) - Brussels, January 29 - Milan Expo 2015 "will be a great success" and raise Italy to "where it belongs: at the summit of European thought," Premier Enrico Letta said Wednesday.

During a political visit to Brussels, Letta also met with the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, and the President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso. Letta said that Expo will draw great attention through its theme "Feeding the Planet: Energy for Life," will emphasize food security, agriculture and international products as well technology to improve food production.

The event, running from May through October 2015 in Milan, is expected to draw more than 20 million visitors to see exhibits from approximately 141 nations and entities that have formally agreed to participate in Milan Expo 2015.
