Italy headed for growth after reforms (see related) (ANSA) - Brussels, January 29 - European Commission chief Jose' Barroso said Wednesday Italy was well on its way towards much-needed growth.

"Italy has made a great deal of progress as concerns growth due to reforms that have begun to produce results, efforts to provide guarantees for the young, payment of public-administration debt, privatizations, and the spending review," he said following a meeting on Wednesday with Italian Premier Enrico Letta.
