'M5S requesting president's impeachment Thursday' (ANSA) - Rome, January 29 - The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) will ask to impeach Italian President Giorgio Napolitano on Thursday, M5S sources told ANSA Wednesday. The M5S, which has long vowed to impeach the head of State, argues that Napolitano's presidency is illegitimate after an unprecedented re-election to a seven-year term last year in the midst of government upheaval. Led by comedian firebrand Beppe Grillo, the Internet-based anti-government movement has increasingly blamed the 88-year-old president for the country's problems in the wake of the euro crisis. In what was seen as a precursor to their impeachment request, an M5S MP on Tuesday called Napolitano an executioner (boia), one of the worst insults in the Italian language, sparking a political storm.
