Letta lashes out at M5S for extreme insult to president (see related) (ANSA) - Rome, January 28 - Premier Enrico Letta on Tuesday lashed out at the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) for one of its MPs calling the president one of the worst insults in the Italian language. "The M5S's shameful attack on Napolitano is a point of no return, extremist in nature and unacceptable for those who practice the principals of democracy," said Letta on Twitter.

Earlier Tuesday, Giorgio Sorial called Napolitano a "boia" or executioner for not intervening in a controversial government decree headed for a vote in the House, which would approve selling off 100 billion euros in gold from the central bank.
