Italian salary increases at lowest level since 1982 (see related story on consumer confidence) (ANSA) - Rome, January 28 - Hourly contract wages in Italy rose just 1.4% on average in 2013, Istat said Tuesday, the lowest rate since it started using its present calculation method in 1982. The national statistics agency said that, nevertheless, wages rose more than inflation (1.2%), which suggests real incomes edged up by 0.2% last year.
