Italy police seize 4 mln euros in assets from businessmen (ANSA) - Rome, January 24 - Italian police seized about four million euros in assets belonging to three businessmen currently being investigated by Rome prosecutors for alleged corruption and fraud. Claudio and Emiliano Cerasi, together with Alfredo Lungarni, are being probed to determine whether they set up funds to bribe the former head of Italy's state public works office Angelo Balducci.

Last year, a trial was ordered for more than a dozen individuals including Balducci, as well as former civil protection chief Guido Bertolaso and businessman Diego Anemone in relation to management of tender bids for a Group of Eight (G8) summit.
