Pope calls mother of young murder victim (ANSA) - Potenza, January 23 - Pope Francis called the mother of a young murder victim, Elisa Claps, whose remains were found in a roof nook in 2010 after having gone missing almost two decades prior to the discovery. Sources told ANSA the pontiff spoke to Filomena Iemma on her mobile phone two days ago. He told her both Elisa and her father Antonio Claps, who recently passed away, were in his prayers. The young Claps' body was found in the attic of the Santissima Trinità church on March 17, 2010.

She went missing on September 12, 1993. Danilo Restivo is in jail for the crime. The pope has made a habit of calling the faithful since his election in March, granting him the nickname of 'the cold-call pope'.
