Six people probed for Sardinia bridge collapse (ANSA) - Tempio Pausania, January 16 - Sardinian prosecutors on Thursday placed six people under investigation in connection with the death of three people as a result of a bridge collapse during last November's cyclone.

The suspects, all with technical posts, could face charges including manslaughter and failure to prevent injury and damage.

The victims lost their lives on November 18 after their Landrover ended up in a precipice following the collapse of the Mone Pinu bridge on the road between Olbia and Tempio Pausania in northern Sardinia during torrential rains. The heavy rainfall and resulting flooding and mudslides left a total of 16 people dead across the island and several thousand more displaced from their homes.
