Milan, Paris, Frankfurt down as London bucks the trend

European markets drop across Europe, dragged down by Madrid (ANSA) - Milan, January 16 - Markets slumped across Europe on Thursday, paced by Milan's FTSE-MIB index which dropped 0.9% to under 20,000 points. The yield spread between 10-year Italian bonds and the German benchmark equivalent, a barometer of Italy's borrowing costs in the eurozone crisis, closed at 206 points with 10-year yields at 3.8%.

The Frankfurt Dax bourse declined 0.2% at 9,717, while the Paris Cac 40 Index dropped 0.3% to 4,319 points. Madrid's Ibex index dropped 0.7% to 10,455 points. London's Ftse-100 stock market decreased 0.1%, to 6.815 points.
