Suspicious powder mailed to Italian minister is baking soda (see related) (ANSA) - Rome, January 15 - Police have confirmed that a suspicious powder mailed to Integration Minister Cecile Kyenge on Wednesday was baking soda. The substance was intercepted at the mail-processing center at the premier's office.

Sent from Palermo, the envelope did not have a return address. Kyenge, Italy's first black minister, has been a repeat target of non-violent racist attacks.
