Remembrance 'best antidote' to historical revisionism

Boldrini visits Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem (ANSA) - Jerusalem, January 14 - Remembrance is the best antidote against historical revisionism of the Shoah, House Speaker Laura Boldrini said Tuesday.

"Remember, remember, remember: this is the most effective antidote against those who continue to call into question the horror" of the Jewish Holocaust, said Boldrini after a visit to the Yad Vashem commemoration center in Jerusalem. "It is frightening to see how widespread revisionist theories are in our country, particularly on the web," she continued. "At a time of crisis, it is easier to have recourse to an imaginary enemy," Boldrini said. The House Speaker added that remembrance is also an effective deterrent against those who continue to draw inspiration from the ideology that led to the extermination of six million Jews under the Nazi regime in the Second World War.
