Soccer: Struggling Livorno sack coach Nicola (ANSA) - Livorno, January 13 - Struggling Serie A side Livorno announced Monday that they have sacked coach Davide Nicola.

The Tuscan club, who were promoted from the second-tier last year, are second-from-botton in Serie A with 13 points at the season's half-way mark.

They have won just three of the 19 league games they have played this term. They lost 3-0 at home to Parma on Saturday.

The club have not yet said who will replace Nicola.

He was sacked on the same day that seven-time European champions AC Milan dismissed Massimiliano Allegri.

So far this season eight Serie A coaches have lost their jobs. Bologna, Lazio, Genoa, Catania, Sampdoria and Chievo have also changed coaches.
