Milan mayor vows to keep Expo 2015 mob-free (ANSA) - Milan, January 13 - Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia on Monday signed a plan of action to keep the 2015 World's Fair mob-free.

Organized crime has already attempted infiltration of Expo 2015, to be held in the northern Italian city from May 1 to October 31 next year, the mayor said.

"The main thing is for the attempts to remain as such," said Pisapia, a former human rights lawyer.

"Not only can we win on this front, we must. Citizens must not worry if there are no investigations or arrests. On the contrary, I would worry if there weren't any," said the mayor, who called on institutions, law enforcement, and anti-mafia activists to work together and remain vigilant.

Expo 2015 will explore the theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life" on an exposition site covering 110 hectares (272 acres). It is expected to attract 29 million visitors.
