Govt calls snap meeting over possible marines death penalty (see previous) (ANSA) - Rome, January 10 - A snap meeting was called Friday between Italian Premier Enrico Letta and Foreign Minister Emma Bonino over reports that two Italian marines may face the death penalty in India for allegedly mistaking two fishermen there for pirates and shooting them to death. "There will be a meeting with the premier at 16:30," said Bonino. Meanwhile Indian Interior Minister Shushil Kumar Shinde said Friday that no decision had been made on how to proceed in the case, but that there would be one "in the next two or three days".
