Labour minister asks for more detail in Jobs Act (see related) (ANSA) - Rome, January 9 - Labour Minister Enrico Giovannini on Thursday expressed caution over the package of proposals for tackling unemployment presented by Democratic Party (PD) Secretary Matteo Renzi.

"Renzi's proposal on the nature of contracts and associated guarantees is not new, but it needs to be set out in greater detail," said the minister in reference to the idea of having only one form of job contract and making guarantees conditional on the length of time in employment. Giovannini also warned that many of the measures proposed by the Florence mayor "require sizeable investment".
