Alleged attackers of police injured in Naples nabbed (ANSA) - Naples, January 8 - Police on Wednesday arrested three people accused in the shooting of two police officers two days earlier in the southern Italian city of Naples.

Arrested were Michele Marzio and Ivan Zinzi, both 20 years old, and Salvatore Di Candido, 22. Police said the trio all have criminal records.

The two officers were shot while chasing a stolen scooter Monday night.

One police officer was slightly injured when a bullet grazed his arm while the other officer was struck in the side.

Police say the trio allegedly began shooting at police as officers drew close to the alleged stolen scooter.

Four shell casings were found on the scene and officers said several bullets were lodged in the police car itself.
