Letta praises ruling that children can take mother's surname (see related) (ANSA) - Rome, January 7 - Italian Premier Enrico Letta praised a European Court of Human Rights ruling Monday that two Italian parents should be allowed to give their daughter her mother's surname.

"The court in Strasbourg is right. Improving Italy's laws on last names for newborns is an obligation," said Letta on Twitter.
