ASEZA in talks with Palermo Uni for Aqaba medical school (ANSA) - Aqaba, January 7 - The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) has announced that it is in talks with the University of Palermo in Italy to establish a medical school in the Red Sea city in cooperation with the University of Jordan (UJ).

During a meeting with Royal Medical Services (RMS) Director, General Khalaf Al Sarhan, ASEZA Chief Commissioner Kamel Mahadin said Aqaba's "advanced" Prince Hashem Hospital, which is run by the RMS, will provide the necessary support to this medical school.

Mahadin called on the RMS to cooperate with UJ to achieve this goal.

The ASEZA chief also commended the RMS's efforts at the hospital and its cadres' role in serving Aqaba residents and tourists.

According to Mahadin, the move is a step forward for Aqaba's development and the achievement of its vision to become a world class business hub and leisure destination.
