Colombian police arrest Italian man on Interpol wanted list (ANSA) - Bogota, January 2 - Colombian authorities announced the arrest of an Italian man who had been on the run after having been sentenced in his country of origin to four years' jail term for drugs detention, production and trafficking.

Francesco Bitetto, 52, was on Interpol's wanted list. Local police said he had been taken into custody at Cartagena and that he had been reported to be at the helm of an international drugs trafficking group with operations in Rome and in Bari that would move cocaine arriving in Italy to nearby nations.
