Elderly woman hit by train at railroad crossing (ANSA) - San Miniato, December 30 - An elderly woman in the Tuscan town of San Miniato near Pisa died on Monday after a train hit her as she was walking along a railroad crossing.

The conductor said the woman, who has not been identified yet, warned him as the train was approaching she could not cross quickly enough but he was unable to stop the train on time.

Trains along the Florence-Pisa line have been delayed due to the accident.
