Agcom has until Jan 11 to explain why it ignored EU notice (see related) (ANSA) - Rome, December 19 - The European Commission has given Italy's telecommunications authority Agcom until January 11 to explain why it didn't take heed of a recommendation it made over planned 2013 tariffs access to the network of former state monopoly Telecom Italia by independent operators, adding that it would mull further legal initiatives if the explanation wasn't convincing. The Commission said it had "taken note" of Agcom's decision that "doesn't follow" its recommendation, adding that the regulator would need to provide a "reasonable justification" to the EU by January 11 that is "convincing", or risk the body taking "further legal action".
