Govt looking for tax reductions, Letta tells union leaders (ANSA) - Rome, December 17 - Premier Enrico Letta told union leaders on Tuesday that his government "is working to find more resources to reduce the tax burden on workers".

The government intends to take any money saved from its spending review and from a crack-down on tax evasion, and apply these new resources to reduce labour taxes, union leaders said they were told by Letta.

The premier met with the heads of several trade unions, including the CGIL, CISL, UIL and UGL as Italy's government works to have its budget measures approved by parliament before the end of the year.
