Poland to participate in Milan Expo 2015 (ANSA) - Warsaw, December 5 - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Thursday announced his country's participation in Milan Expo 2015.

''We have long prepared for this decision,'' Tusk said at joint press conference with Italian Premier Enrico Letta after a bilateral meeting in Warsaw.

''The presence of the Polish stand will be very important,'' Tusk added.

Letta responded, ''I have welcomed Donald's announcement...with great satisfaction''.

''It was a decision that we were waiting for. Poland is an important country that can hold its own on the Expo theme,'' Letta said. The universal exposition currently has roughly 140 participants, representing about 86% of the world's population, according to the Milan Expo 2015 website.

The world fair in Milan is themed ''Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life''.
