Milan 'gay-bashing' gang busted (ANSA) - Milan, December 4 - A gay-bashing gang in Milan has been broken up, Italian police said Wednesday.

The gang, accused of attacks in May and August on homosexuals meeting for sex in a city park, were led by a 19-year-old Moldovan who has been arrested, police said.

Three Italian teenagers and one Albanian teen, aged 15 to 17, were also allegedly involved and have been cautioned.

A prosecutor said the gang aimed to "clean up" the park with "Fascist-thug-like raids".

They allegedly beat a 40-year-old Italian man senseless on May 12 and broke the jaw and collar-bone of another 40-year-old Italian on August 25.

Police said they were still investigating a third alleged attack on a Colombian man at the end of June.
