Woman attempts suicide after husband's beating (ANSA) - Carrara, December 2 - A husband's beating prompted a woman in Tuscany to attempt suicide by poisoning, but police were able to save her when they tracked down her cell-phone signal, investigators said Monday. On Monday the mother of two was hospitalized in a state of shock but doctors said her injuries from ingesting pills were not life-threatening. Police were alerted by the husband who said he received a text message from his wife Sunday saying she planned to kill herself. Police said the woman had facial injuries inflicted by the husband.
