76-year-old arrested for 'abusing girl met through FB' (ANSA) - Viareggio, December 2 - A 76-year-old Rome resident is under house arrest after being accused of sexual crimes with a Tuscan minor he met through Facebook. The former computer professional is accused of having contacted the adolescent two years ago while posing as a woman on Facebook, and was not put in prison due to his advanced age. After gaining the alleged victim's trust by offering to help with her homework and by paying to recharge her mobile phone, he persuaded her to meet in person, where he is accused of having molested her.

The investigation took place in the Tuscan seaside resort of Viareggio as well as in a town in the Versilia area where the alleged victim lives. The investigation was initiated after the alleged victim's mother alerted authorities of her daughter's accusations.
