God tends wounds 'like a nurse' says pope
'Up close and personal' like Jesus says Francis22 October, 18:01
"It's personal work, like Jesus," Francis said at a Mass in the Vatican, according to Vatican Radio.
"The image that comes to mind is that of a male or female nurse in a hospital: He heals wounds one by one, with His hands," said the pontiff in his homily in St Martha's House, the Vatican residence he chose to live in instead of the stately papal rooms.
"God gets involved in our suffering, gets up close to our wounds, heals them with His hands; in order to have hands, God became Man.
"It's work like Jesus did, a personal thing. A man sins, a Man comes to heal him.
"God saves us with tenderness, He saves us with caresses, He saves us with His life, for us".
