Alitalia 'to be grounded Saturday if no cash injection'
500 million euros needed says civil aviation chief10 October, 19:42
(ANSA) - Rome, October 10 - Italian flag-carrier Alitalia will be "grounded" unless it gets a cash infusion of at least half a billion euros by Saturday, the head of Italy's civil aviation authority ENAC said Thursday.
"A recapitalisation is needed, otherwise Alitalia will stay on the ground Saturday," Vito Riggio told Sky.
ENAC is expecting a recapitalisation of "at least 300 million euros plus a bank loan of 200 million euros" to be approved by the ailing airline's board Friday, he said.
