IMF says Italian deficit estimated at 3.2% in 2013
Debt will likely remain above 120% of GDP until at least 201809 October, 18:23
The national debt will likely hit 132.2% of GDP this year, and rise to 133.1% in 2014, the agency added.
Debt will continue to average above 120% of GDP until at least 2018, the IMF said in a report issued shortly before the Fund's regular fall meetings.
The Italian government has been struggling to keep its deficit at 3% of GDP in order to meet important European Union targets.
However, it has warned that will be difficult, and recently Moody's rating agency predicted that Italy will not meet its 3% budget deficit target this year.
