Italy poverty risk among highest in EU

Italy's rate of 28.2% put it in 20th place in the 28-member bloc two years ago, with the less at-risk countries ranked higher, the EU statistics office said.
Italy's figure is believed to be higher now, after two more years of recession.
Ireland (29.4%), Greece (31%), Hungary (32.4%), Croatia (32.7%), Lithuania (33.4%), Latvia (40.1%), Romania (40.3%) and Bulgaria (49.1%) were worse-off than Italy in 2011.
The Czech Republic had the lowest risk (15.4%), followed by the Netherlands (15.7%) and Sweden (16.1%).
