Letta promises economic growth in 2014
Slow expansion within fiscal constraints, says Letta02 October, 17:56
After many weeks of gridlock over the future of the coalition, most triggered by threats from ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi and his supporters in the People of Freedom (PdL) party, Letta suggested the economy would be now given high priority.
And while the economic recovery will be "gradual," Letta said, "now we have the goal of 1% growth in 2014 and higher (growth) in the years to come".
Letta also promised that Italy will respect European fiscal constraints and remain below the threshold of 3% of debt to GDP.
