'Our govt experience is over' says Berlusconi
Left-right executive looks doomed30 September, 19:30
The centre-right PdL and its unnatural alliance partner, Letta's centre-left Democratic Party, have been limping along amid brinkmanship and threats since Berlusconi's first binding conviction, for tax-fraud, on August 1, mandated his ejection from the Senate.
Berlusconi pulled his ministers from the government Saturday and Letta is holding a confidence vote to try to rally the alliance behind a limited platform of reforms Wednesday.
The three-time premier was reported to have said earlier Monday that the government could last a week longer to pass key tax moves and the 2014 budget.
