Police unearth fake-blind scam near Naples

The fraud is estimated to have cost Italian social security agency INPS an estimated 1.7 million euros. The police discovered the fraud with the use of hidden camera. Various people were found to cross roads without the need of assistance, with some even driving cars without any problems.
One of the people involved even went running with a dog on a special-purpose athletics training ground. Police have placed some 21 people under investigation.
The people in question were registered as 100% blind with INPS, and even benefited from the right to be accompanied due to their condition.
