Aqaba Commissioner launches Jordanian Radio Stations Forum
Over 30 stations taking part27 September, 17:31
(ANSA) - Aqaba, September 26 - On Thursday the first Jordanian Radio Stations Forum will be launched under the patronage of Professor Kamel Mahadin, the chief commissioner of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority in Aqaba, with the participation of over 30 radio stations from Jordan and 60 presenters. The forum is entitled "The Role of the Media in Supporting the Jordanian Economy".
Dr. Mahadin noted that "the forum comes as a translation of His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision and as part of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority's Philosophy. It fits in as part of Aqaba's marketing strategy aiming at promoting the competitive investment climate Aqaba enjoys and numerous investment opportunities it offers". Dr. Mahadin stressed the important role that Jordanian radio stations play as partners in the development process and as key players in marketing Jordan as a whole, and Aqaba in particular as a key contributor to the Jordanian economy and as a regional and international investment hub.
"We are not discouraged by the political situation in the region. On the contrary we are more and more keen on transforming Aqaba into a world-class business hub and leisure destination," Mahadin emphasized.
"Aqaba is a success story and we look forward to the Jordanian media to play even a bigger role, not only in promoting Aqaba, but also in insuring that all stakeholders are heard," he said.
