(ANSA) - Brescia, September 25 - An ex-regional councilor
with the right-wing Northern League party was under house arrest
Wednesday for processing fraudulent invoices worth roughly 20
Enio Moretti, a former Lombardy councilor, was cited along
with his brother Renato and their Calabrian associates Rocco and
Vincenzo Natale, also brothers.
Police say Moretti was the ringleader of a complex system
of front companies in the construction industry that defrauded
the government of millions in tax revenue between 2007 and 2010.
Moretti's wife is among an additional 19 people under
Police seized roughly two million euros in assets including
houses, land, cars, and jewelry.
