Donatello, Ghiberti among Florence masters24 September, 16:52
As many as 140 works are included in the exhibition "The Springtime of the Renaissance" that opens on Thursday and continues until January 6, 2014.
The exhibit showed in Florence from March to August.
Works from Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, are especially key in the show that tracks the path of art as it flourished between about 1400 and 1460.
Most significant are works from a small group of artists working in Florence at the time, including Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Mino da Fiesole, Desiderio da Settignano, and Lorenzo Ghiberti whose art was crucial to defining the period.
The exhibition is curated by Beatrice Paolozzi Strozzi, director of Florence's National Museum of the Bargello, and Marc Bormand, of the Louvre's department of sculpture.
