Italian real incomes register small rise in July
Hourly contract wages up 1.5%, compared to 1.2 inflation23 September, 11:19
The agency said contractual hourly wages increased by 1.5% in July compared to the same month in 2012, compared to an annual inflation rate of 1.2%.
This suggests real incomes grew by 0.3% when the effects of price rises are accounted for.
For many months during Italy's longest recession in over two decades, Istat figures showed wages increased less than the inflation rate, meaning real incomes were declining.
